At the online Coffee and Pi meeting on Wednesday 17th June, some of the amazing aspects of using desmos activities for online or classroom teaching were demonstrated by Jack Wilcock with some input from me. There has been a huge upsurge in teachers wanting to know how to use the activities, and how to create their own.
As someone who has only been learning how to use the website for the past five weeks, I can tell you that it is really straightforward. Desmos have their own tutorials at https://learn.desmos.com/ but I found the three videos on https://mei.org.uk/desmos are a great introduction to getting going. In response to demand, the AMSP also have an ODPD (on line professional development) entitled 'Desmos in the Maths classroom' which includes desmos activities https://amsp.org.uk/events/details/7544. This provides learning at your own pace across
1 year from when you start.
I have attached the presentation which Jack used in the meeting.
