I've updated the spreadsheet attached to the post below. A few small corrections on MEI Extra Pure.
But also...
...one of my colleagues has done some analysis of how much of each strand you cover in AS, and therefore how much is left to do in y13.
I've added a new sheet to the spreadsheet which shows this. It makes interesting reading.
For AQA, Y13 is 83% compulsory pure, with just 8% on each of the applied strands. (But do remember that we are still working with AQA's first draft, so this might change.)
For Edexel, you do 50% pure in each year
For OCR A and MEI, you do 33% pure in y12 and 67% pure in y13
Of course, this will not affect you if you do Maths in y12 and Further Maths in y13, as you can do what you like. It won't, strictly speaking, need to affect you if you teach in parallel but don't do AS exams, but in practice you'll probably need to stick more or less to the the AS in y12 because of dependency
AND and interesting contradiction to the info from Edexcel reps:
The reps at both the Oxon and Bucks meetings said specifically that all routes were co-teachable. But the accredited AS specification says that the only co-teachable routes for AS are D1 D2 and S1 M1. Actually, this looks like nonsense, since if you can co-teach these two options, then surely you have to be able to co-teach D1 S1 and D1 M1, and surely they must be simpler to co-teach than S1 M1 because you can do all the independent D1 stuff in the autumn term. No?? Have we missed something here?!
As I keep saying (sorry to be repetitive) do check the actual teaching order and make sure the options you want really work for you, before committing to an exam board! If you are short of teaching time, you won't be wanting to 'double-teach' more than is absolutely necessary.
